Great Reading:A Ron Paul Primary (a call for democrats to become blue republicans)Click on the title above for the whole blog. Below are just a few excerpts:
"My mind replays a scene. I open the door, walk down to the end of the driveway and pick up the newspaper. It’s the first time I read the words “President Paul” in large print. And I know everything will be okay."
"I really don’t ask for much in a president. I’d like to stop bombing innocent people. I’d like for the government to stop spying on us. In essence, it is a simple repetition of what Diogenes asked of Alexander the Great: 'Stand a little less between me and the sun.' ”
“It disappoints me, though, when my friends—whom I still love dearly—reiterate the false notion the Democrats are the "good guys." I’ll be the first to admit the other Republican candidates are no better. A society can be judged by the people it imprisons and whether Rick Santorum is running for president. The United States is screwed on both counts.”
"All I ask is for you to give one chance to Ron Paul, even without sacrificing your potential vote for the current administration. I urge every one of you to register today as a Blue Republican, an organization run by progressives who have stuck to their principles and are voting for Ron Paul as a beacon of hope."

"On they come, marginalized by the media and ridiculed by the Republican establishment. Their votes are often rejected at precinct caucuses, their voices ignored by temporary chairmen who flaunt their own rules and pretend that they have the votes for their prearranged delegate slates.""On one occasion a crowd of onlookers shouts objections at this fraud, only to be subjected to prearranged organized arrests for “disturbing the peace.” Some participants openly weep, in shame for the obscenity of such blatant corruption. Others become angry. In Missouri, a weary delegate is seen vomiting by the side of a building, sick over what she has just experienced."
"In Kentucky..." "In Nevada..." "In Virginia..." "In Alaska..." "In Maine..."
"And yet, on they come, in spite of the pain, the inconvenience, the open hostility of the Party bosses. They are like a tide of the ocean. And for every precinct or county where they are violated or cheated, there is another where their sheer numbers prevail. These are the Ronulans, the Ron Paul supporters, trying to take back the Mothership from the corrupt Empire. And unseen, unheralded by the national media, they are showing signs of success."
"So who are these Ron Paul supporters? They are young. He carried 48% of the youth vote in Iowa, 47% in New Hampshire, while six other candidates split the rest. They are Hispanic. He carried 52% of the Hispanic vote in Clark County, Nevada ( Las Vegas) while all of the others split the rest. And they are Independents. In a recent CBS poll he did better among Independents than all other candidates including Barack Obama."
"And that means that they are the future. It means they are going to keep coming. They cannot be stopped, only delayed. And not for long. They are coming. They are coming."Click on the title above for the whole article. Below are a few excerpts:
"In their mad dash to create the long awaited general election narrative, media outlets have pronounced Ron Paul’s campaign dead." "They now speculate about what his supporters may do when he drops out. The Associated Press reports that Romney has over ten times the delegates that Ron Paul has secured. Reuters reports that Paul is far behind in Wisconsin and that his supporters have finally conceded that he can’t win the nomination."
"None of this is true. Romney has not secured 568 delegates. Hundreds of those delegates won’t be determined until Republican state conventions, many of which haven’t happened yet."
"In most years, the media can get away with reporting on the nomination contest as they are now. They can assume that the candidates will receive roughly the same percentage of delegates from each state as the percentage they received in the popular vote. That isn’t accurate reporting, but it usually comes out in the wash, especially as far as the winner is concerned. However, there are many things different in this year’s race and there is a good chance that much of the media are going to look silly come August."
"The media started this election cycle by completely ignoring Ron Paul’s campaign. As his poll numbers rose and the crowds at his rallies grew into the thousands, they began giving him grudging respect. Now, they want to pronounce his campaign over and even go so far as to speak for his supporters."
"There’s only one problem. Paul and his supporters aren’t going anywhere and this race is far from over. The Paul campaign’s senior advisor Doug Wead documents many examples of Ron Paul’s delegate strategy yielding much better results than the media are reporting. Assuming he’s right, Romney is unlikely to clinch the nomination during the first vote at the national convention. If he doesn’t, Paul’s understated army of delegates could mean big surprises in Tampa."
