The Myth: Ron Paul wants to pull all our troops home and hold an isolationist policy.

The Truth: Ron Paul wants to pull our troops home to defend our own borders, and not be the police of the world, causing so many other nations to hate us.  He holds the view our founding fathers held, a non-interventionist foreign policy.

Thomas Jefferson said in his first inaugural address "Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with ALL nations-- entangling alliances with NONE".  

Washington said that "temporary alliances" could be justified for "extraordinary emergencies" but other than that "harmony, liberal intercourse with all nations are recommended by policy, humanity, and interest." (Ibid., p. 235)
